Based in Hollenburg a sub-region of Kremstal, gifted by a Champagne-like terroir rich of sedimented limestone, Christophâs wines have rapidly gained international interest amongst the natural wine movement. Demeter certiïŹed vineyards employing a mix of innovation and traditional methods to deliver pure, minimal intervention GrĂŒner Veltliner and Riesling as well as naturally fermented sparkling (Pet-Nat) with ageing potential and ïŹnesse.
Rosé Rurale is a unique blend of 70% Zweigelt pressed white from the 2018 vintage, blended with 20% Saint Laurent which is co-fermented on the skins with 10% Muskat Ottonel. The whole fermentation of the wine takes place in the bottle, and it spends six to eight months resting on the lees to allow the tannins and bubbles to balance one another out. A fresh and fruity sparkling wine with aromas of ripe strawberries, blood orange, and a saline minerality on the finish.
