This wine is a blend of Viura, MalvasĂa and Garnacha Blanca, but the way the vines were planted in what started off as a red grape plot around 60 years ago means it is difficult to say with any accuracy the exact percentages used of each variety. The scattering of white grapevines was normal practice back then, as they were more susceptible to disease and so helped to indicate when the vineyard needed treating.
It has an intense nose that reveals lactic hints, ripe fruit notes (peach, pear, apricot) and spices (cinnamon, aniseed). Showing very good balance on the palate with pleasant acidity, it is structured and complex, with a perfumed and intense finish.
Fermented in 225-litre French oak barrels on its lees and aged for 12 months.
