00 Wines EGW Chardonnay 2023

Produced from our pioneering Black Chardonnay technique, the EGW "Extra Good White" is a rare blend of opposites to produce a singular expression of Chardonnay. We pick Dijon clone fruit from high elevation volcanic soil vineyards in the Eola-Amity Hills and vinify it in Damy barrels. We pick Wente clone fruit from low-elevation sedimentary soil vineyards in the Chehalem Mountains on the opposite end of the Northern Willamette Valley and vinify in Damy barrels. After 1 year in barrel, we blend. This is more "extra" in every day than the VGW. It has extra depth, extra structure, and it's extra rare.
